Death Drive
Why does road rage exist? What social requirements does it fulfill? How are our drives both personal and structural?
Consider traffic. Order is both imposed and internalized. This essay film uses road rage to draw connections between the order required by institutions such as the state and industry, and the internal order required to balance our well-meaning mind with our unconscious desires.
The film is composed from archival footage, candid scenes of road rage, and an interview with USM professor of Criminology, Dusan Bjelic.
